The marquee had barely hit the ground at The Chelsea Flower Show when along trots its little sister at Hampton Court. Set in the magnificent Palace grounds and a mere stone’s throw from KLC’s garden design studios. This year was certainly one of the most memorable and exciting shows for me, where three of my graduate students from KLC swept the prizes board. Winning gold and silver medals as well as walking away with The Best in Show (Anoushka Feiler), The Best Conceptual Garden (Matthew Childs) and The People’s Choice (Anoushka Feiler). Jo Hanslip who, this time last year was still a student won a Silver Medal for her daring conceptual garden. As anyone involved with teaching will know, this is what it is all about. The thrill of seeing my students graduate into the world of design as confident, innovative, award-wining designers makes me so proud that I could burst! It makes it all worthwhile.
